British Telecom again
Aug 22, 2007

...really I don't know why I mentioned it.
I am going to give up on them.
They are just not worth the money if you are an individual customer.
The rental costs more than the amount of money/time I spend on the telephone.

Guess what?
Jul 8, 2007

I am in a bad mood today.
No, I don't want to go to church.
Going to church is not the 'be all' even if it might be the 'end all'.

Do I want to get cremated?
Yes please but don't do it before I'm dead.

h2g2 is really its own worst enemy
Jul 5, 2007

I won't be saying any more about the subject of hootoo being its own worst enemy because we all know why it is.

There isn't any point in me writing anything about birds, because it is all here.

It is nearly a week now since I rang British Telecom
Apr 16, 2007

about my bill.
Someone was supposed to be calling me back but they haven't done so yet and I can't spend all my time ringing and hanging on the phone whilst I have other things to do.

Another thing, all these 'special offers' they have.
They are really confusing.

When is a special offer a special offer not a special offer.
It is never a special offer to the customers who have stuck with them through thick and thin, it seems to me grr

I have been a BT customer for more that 30 years now, but does it make any difference. Not a jot. Money, money, money
Money, money, moneyMoney, money, moneyMoney, money, moneyMoney, money, moneyMoney, money, moneymore money blah blah blah
ring ring ring

Why is my line engaged?
I'm not using the phone...
ring ring ring ring ring ring
blah blah blah blah
cross cross cross

Does your landlord bully you?
Apr 9, 2007

Mine does.
He is like a dripping tap.
In fact there is a dripping tap in the kitchen.
There is also mould growing in the bathroom.
Has he done anything about it?
No, he hasn't.

He keeps wittering on about the fact that I don't have a job yet.
If he hadn't kept wittering on so much my self-esteem would be much, MUCH higher than it is now and then I probably would have got a job.

Is mould good for one's mental health and one's 'health' health?
I wonder.

sorry

He can't help being an Aquarian.
I should have known better.
Apologies for being angry in my journal, there is a shortage of counsellors here at the moment.

Helpful people
Apr 5, 2007

My mother has a horror of white van drivers.
She says they are 'notorious' for being the worst drivers on the road.
I could tell you about the Morrisons driver that nearly killed me and the BMW on the A30 but it's too late now.

Why is it people always have to find the worst in people?
I'm not going to tell you any more about fitting drunk John or cross Chris, if they can't be bothered to listen The_Apple_Woman and I are going to put three paragraphs about that in our book! nahnah

I would like to say a BIGm THHHHHHAAAAAANNNK YOU

THANK YOU to the porkpie driver of white van who saved me when I got lost in Birmingham. Thank you! Thank you! hug

Best wishes to you, your wife and your family and the other two white van drivers.

IF anyone else misses the M5 turn off around Birmingham you can also find your way back down south via the M42.

Have a happy driving day! ok

My outing
Mar 11, 2007

I met some of the lads (someone's bairns) and then I went to a very nice cafe where they were doing some painting.

It was only spoilt by arriving back at my home (that isn't my home) and having to put up with Landlord's complaints (even though I could have sued him because I fell in a HUGE hole in the driveway with my broken arm a few months ago).

football we could all work for each other but you don't know who we are because you are more concerned with your 'free kicks' than the welfare of the community.

My drive and I
Feb 17, 2007

Went for a lovely drive today.
The town I visited was much the worse for wear.
It looked like a cyclone had hit it. Half the shops were empty!
yikes Can't imagine how that must have happened.
The girls in the pet shop were very friendly.
As were most people in the town.
I enjoyed my Irn Bru and saw someone who looked just like Peet biggrin I don't know if it was him because he didn't say anything!
cool Later on after an exhaustive drive around the most beautiful terrain in Britain someone threw something out of the back of their car at me which was an extremely untidy thing to do.
All in all, a very good day and I will be back.
I resisted buying a feather duster.

Clutching at straws...
Jan 2, 2007

I have already been sent a couple of straws today and I am going to clutch them both! I'll tell you about it later.

In the meantime, I hope all you people who are self-employed out there have a better year than I did last year and this year will be an improvement!

People can be very strange
Nov 14, 2006

Since I have been a single person I have noticed that people can be very strange. I'm only going to write that at the moment. kiss

When you are on your own and want to go for a quiet time. That is fine. If you are sitting reading a book that is fine.

There is one place I often go for tea It is better at lunchtime than it is in the afternoon. I'll go somewhere else to warm up on these cold days blue another time.

Peet and Dagesh
Oct 19, 2006

Dagesh thought it was quite amusing, last night, that someone like myself should know snork tardis 2cents rainbow winkeye and they weren't even from ML...

There's absolutely no evidence of Dagesh having been there at all.

Strangely enough, that had disappeared from the conversation when I looked this morning and I hadn't had a drink last night.

Haven't had one since the night before last, as it happens.

The joy of being a seagull
Oct 16, 2006

I have decided to follow the sound advice of my accountant and have started drinking on my own. I've thrown my veil and caution to the wind and cracked open a bottle of GlenHiddit. It wouldn't be redwine or choc now would it?
Have a good evening.
