Yeah, I know I haven't been around h2g2 much lately, though it's been great seeing so many of you over on my 'casa az' blog.
I thought it might be a good idea to start a journal entry for random chat or whatever, for hootoo friends dropping by who might like to say hello.
So help yourself to or , give the cats a snibble, and make yourself at home.
If anyone is curious about the cancer thang, please check this link for all my cancer-related blog posts first. I don't mind talking about it, but a lot of it has already been said.
It's nice to be back.

In case anyone has been wondering why I've been even more absent than usual lately you can read all about it in the next post (didn't want it taking up my whole PS).
It's so good to be home again!

This is my latest blog, putting together some of my favourite travel pics and experiences.
Please feel free to drop in and say hello.
the Sevilla tapas blog
Aug 15, 2007
This is a personal collection of some of my favourite restaurants and tapa bars in Seville.
The blog is set up so that each restaurant and tapa bar has its own archive page, which can be found on the drop down categories menu in the sidebar.
Comments and queries can be left on the various posts.
Or else here, if you prefer.
casa az - my new weblog
May 2, 2006
During yesterday's BLACKOUT I decided it was a good time to start my own weblog . . . and so here it is:
I'm still trying to get the hang of how it all works and also figure out what I actually want to do with it, so it's still a bit bare. But please feel free to pop in and say hello.
Mini-meet in Seville?
Aug 11, 2005
Noggin and I are thinking about organising a 'weekend getaway' mini-meet in Seville for sometime next spring. There should be fairly inexpensive flights at that time and there is also a cheap & cheerful pension at the end of our street (20 euros a night per person).
The general idea is that people would come in on Friday evening and we would all go out for tapas (perhaps to two or three different tapa bars).
Saturday could be a 'sightseeing' day (with Noggin and me as tour guides) and in the evening we could meet for dinner and then go out to a local bar. Then Sunday brunch and home again.
We were thinking sometime in March would be best in terms of weather (April is too crazy here because of Semana Santa and the Feria).
So let us know if you are interested, which dates would be best for you, etc. etc . . .
February 28 - second anniversary
Feb 28, 2005
Today is my second hootoo anniversary (and I even got the date right this time! )
This seems like a nice day to celebrate knowing you all. And it's funny to think that last year when I wrote my first anniversary journal entry I had no idea that by the next one I would be happily living with Noggin.
Yet another reason to be grateful to DNA.
So . . . anyone?

h2g2 friends photo gallery
May 16, 2004
Now that the photo gallery is well under way I thought I should start a new journal entry with the link on the first page:
To add your photo(s) to the gallery you can either post a link here or send me one by email:
azaharh2g2 (at) yahoo (dot) com
Let me know if you would like a caption put below your photo. And if you ever change your mind about having your photos in the gallery then I will delete them for you. Once your photo is on a page I cannot 'replace' it, though I could remove it if you like and add a new one to the latest page. Or simply add another photo if you find another one you would like to have in the gallery.
The original photo gallery thread is here: F119314?thread=420158 in case you haven't seen it and would like to read the comments from others who are already in the gallery.
And tell your friends! At the moment this is a word-of-mouth project, so please don't put the link on 'ask h2g2'. Thanks.
Hope to *see* you soon!

I found out today that Lua might have a tumour. She has been put on anti-biotics for a week, in case it's just a really bad infection, but the vet said she was quite sure it was a tumour. It's a very hard lump under one of her nipples and it's been bleeding.
Well, as some of you already know, I am feeling quite overwhelmed by sadness and worry. And I thought it would be better to write about this in my journal rather than pester everyone on separate threads.

This is just the beginning of my photo collection - so far it's mostly cats and horses but I hope to also do some albums on Sevilla and other places in Spain soon.
memory? what memory?
Mar 30, 2003
This morning I hairsprayed under my arms - again! Which is much more unpleasant than when I deodorize my hair.
I used to find these little memory lapses somewhat amusing, though these days I'm not so sure.
Like, walking out of a shop and going in the totally opposite direction than I thought I was going in (though I have always been directionally challenged, to use the politically correct term). Or like finding scary growing things in my kitchen cupboard which obviously should have been put in the fridge.
I also blank out totally whenever I suddenly need to introduce someone I'm with to somebody else - I ALWAYS forget their names! And it could be my own sister (ol' what's her name) it doesn't matter WHO the person is. At this moment names escape me and this causes much embarrassment, both to me and my friends or relatives.
But I think the worst is when I discover I am telling someone the EXACT SAME STORY again and I watch their eyes glaze over as they (I presume) try to decide whether to be polite and sit through the same old story again or tell me to shut the f**k up and stop boring them.
Anyhow, now I have to go and . . . what? Uuuum . . . dang!
