All countries have shires , zones, or counties and indeed have pet names for articles that over time each one has been basterdised and is not known in any printed version of any particular place.

Anyone stepping onto English soil for the first time armed with an English dictionary not too long ago with intent to natter some yin's lug ole aff would be hard pressed to understand a Geordie or indeed a Yorkshire or Lincolnshire man.

I can well imagine the smart ass Hitler of WW2 infamey waltzing down the East end of London and trying to chat up some of the local color there.
Naughty Nora, "Nah then me owd flower, wots thee efter?"
Hitler, "Was sagt er?" (Wot did she say?)

So Hitler went to Liverpool and was met by,"Nah then wacka, ows me owd scouse mate!"

In Lincolnshire he was equally baffled when on passing a local he raised his hand in the Nastie salute and the answer he got was,"Yis!" and the bloke just grinned and past on.

In Paris Hitler was reported to have danced a little jig when observing the tower in Paris when in fact he had just wet himself with all the excitment and was trying to stomp the water out of his boots.
