After several G and T's you might start getting the order of ingredients wrong, and I think the order in which you fill the glass is important. Lemon, then ice, gin and finally the tonic. Be generous with the gin, not too generous though!

Remember, the only thing worse than taking a gulp of Gin and Tonic, and finding out that its totally gin is taking a big gulp and finding its all tonic...

When you add the gin make sure you have your glass on an angle. You wouldn't want to bruise the gin.
