  | | Using the current system I don't believe that is possible, but there are a few reasons why it probably wouldn't be a good idea. Firstly, the Guide is big. Rather large, in fact, and downloading it all might take a while. Secondly, you'd miss out on the continually-changing forums attached to each Entry, and thirdly, it's likely the server load from such an activity would be fairly high, and would slow the system down for everybody else.
Perhaps one day there'll be a package of Edited Entries to download or get on CD or something, but that's just random speculation.

  | | Can we please ask you *not* to try downloading the Guide. For one, it's illegal to make copies of copyright material, but even if it wasn't against the law, it would both slow down the site while you tried to download it (it is *huge*), and would be a pointless exercise as the Guide is dynamic and changing every few seconds.
We've had one person try to download the whole site. We barred him from accessing us, as that was the only way to stop the attack. *Please* don't do it - thanks!

  | | No you can't download the whole guide, and if you tried, we'd probably block you forever because you'd overload our servers and prevent other users using it.
We will be introducing some offline reading in the future - initially AvantGo for palmtops - which would be usable from any browser. you'd be able to download the week's new entries, or a set of conversations. The size would be limited (because palmtops have limited memory) which would mean it wouldn't be as horrendous a server drain as someone trying to download the whole site.
