And without further ado, here's a reprise of 9FX:

And d'E right after: "Alternate career path for a pope? Infallibility definitely has its uses - I think proofreader, fact checker or quality-assurance testing would be ideal."
Most informative post: MR on priestly celibacy and history (503)
Best non sequitur: Post 726.
Best retrieval of obscure trivia was by Teuchter (1855).
Notable Links There were simply too many Youtube song videos to mention, in accord with one of our conversational topics. Scan through the 200-300's to find them. An odd site that captions photos of house interiors: http://unhappyhipsters.com/ extreme house makeovers: http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/20...20100321-reuse-slideshow_index.html A quiz! this is for your Autism Quotient: http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aqtest.html The Nimrod is dead: long live the Nimrod!: http://news.stv.tv/scotland/north/1...inloss-says-farewell-to-nimrod-mr2/ The Sistine Chapel virtual tour: http://www.vatican.va/various/cappelle/sistina_vr/index.html What stormtroopers do on their day off: http://wildammo.com/2010/04/06/what...roopers-do-on-their-day-off-part-2/ ash plume as ragnorok: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30288966@N07/4546218830/in/photostream/ The Blak Kitteh (now Camaris): http://www.flickr.com/photos/10569202@N06/sets/72157623773587395/ Scary shoes (a sample): http://ifshoescouldkill.com/2010/04...-dont-have-enough-to-shave-already/ How to say that Volcano: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/magazine.../how_to_say_eyjafjallajoekull.shtml The Lying Down Game: http://dengedenge.com/2010/04/the-lying-down-game/
As the conversation opened and salonistas found comfortable places, the meltmeltmeltmelt project was soon resumed for the Scandinavians and Hibernians. Count Spracula was able to revert to Bluebottleness early on. Mr. Dreadful was stabbed to death in LARP World and later revealed to be co-starring in a Regency novel, as a zombie. Football frenzy swept the salon, followed by a plume of Icelandic ash, and Sporky finally rejoined us as Sulking is Easy. Europeans commented in hushed tones on the clarity of the sky and the absence of contrail-induced clouds while the skies were clear of jets.
Topics of Note the benefits of meaningful conversation kibitzing raising kids Girl With the Dragon tattoo - movie songs that make one weepy/happy a tax on cider spike milligan crisi management with employees and children the Catholic Church and the scandal bullying Easter dinner and eating rabbit (no, coney) watching the space shuttle the new Who suicide and its effects on the relicts Anathem (again) the scariness of debt the welfare state tell-tale signs of Mad Cat Woman Syndrome Annotated Alice memorable aircraft sightings and airshows Roald Dahl
And so here we are once again, milling around in the foyer as the bots finish cleaning the salon and refilling the samovar. Two hundred and fifty-five conversations have flowed under the bridge: let's celebrate as we celebrate the 256th. Please make yourselves at home!
