To the doc a week or so ago. Skin cancer and a hernia.
Treatment (for keratoses) with liquid nitrogen - dabbed on with a cotton bud. Me somewhat surprised that the nurse poured some into a plastic cup & dipped the bud in. It lasted for the three or four treatments - I expected a new pouring each time but the stuff doesn't evaporate nearly as quick as I'd thought.
To the nearest Mole scan clinic a few days ago. More than a dozen treatments with the squirter - "It's more effective but more expensive". Also four BCCs (Basal Cell Carcinoma) to be cut out.
This is happening to me - ME, wot wrote an entry on it. Bloody idiot. I'd neglected it for near two & a half years, what with moving to NZ and all.

Interesting, though, she (the consultant) was armed with a dermoscope, which I'd not seen before, she said it uses polarised light (I expected laser - must look it up).
Any way, these keratoses and BCCs show up in characteristic manners - melanomas too.

Hernia - it's inguinal. To the specialist for confirmation. I had a choice of dates for the op. It'll be laparoscopic - that's keyhole to you - surgery. General anaesthetic (probably administered by son-in-law) and overnight in t'orsepittal followed by a few weeks light duties (that'll be nice).

We have insurance - what a difference it makes, going private! I could have opted for the public service for treatment - they don't like you to die - but waiting lists are not dissimilar to UK.

anyway, enough of that

Doglet being groomed & not as happy as she might be about the ear knots.

Ms Stress: "Easy now, just lie back and think of New Zealand"

Thanks, Bel

It's not life-threatening. I seem to have been lucky - again. There's a cure even though it involves knives again (just the one patch that'll need a biopsy, and I could manage without that leg).

What I'm very much afraid of though, is that the bloody stupidity is no longer treatable.

I'm convinced the 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks' isn't true.
You just have to keep trying. ok
