Beltane is one of the 'funnest' times of year. It's getting warm, the days are getting longer, the flowers are blooming, there are new lambs and babybirds, and allkindastuff like that. Makes one want to sing...

Tra-la, it's May, the lusty month of May!
That lovely month when everyone throws self control away!
Tra-la, it's here, that shocking time of year,
When tons of wicked little thoughts merrily appear!

It's May! It's May! The month of 'Yes you may!'
Those dreary vows that everyone makes, everyone breaks;
everyone makes divine mistakes...
The LUSSSSTTTTTYYYY month of Maaaaaaayyyyyyy!!!!

*pant, pant*
*gasp*

Now THAT'S my idea of a jolly holiday...
[Of course that was in the olden days, before all those pesky STDs]
*sigh*
but the idea sure is fun. What we need is more carefree rollicking in the world. Maypoles, flowers, feasting, fires.

hoo-boy! gimme that 'ole time religion!

Wonder if thats what they mean when they talk about returning to 'traditional' values???
*hee hee hee*

Oh, just so you dont think I am completely bonkers--I know, I know, it isn't REALLY May. I just wanted to add a entry to the article, and I felt like singing, and then I just got carried away by the thought of spring and all...

So the winter holidays ARE over, arent they? We lived through them? They wont be back for a year?

No?

It's not even THANKSGIVING yet?!?!?!?!?!??!
[American holiday at end of November followed by wild xmas commercialism]

drat...I was hoping it was over

Well, just to bring it all up to date, the Winter Solstice celebrations ARE all over. [it worked, the sun IS coming back]

As of this writing, it is early March, and where I am [slightly below the 45th parallel on the N.American Continent] the weather is going to be an unusually balmy 60 degrees farenheit today! Flowers are poking their noses up and the pussy willows are beginning to willow.

Beltane WILL be here soon...

*exits, humming softly to herself*
tra-la, it's May...the lusty month of May.....
