  | | Thats why I wouldn't want to be a subbie. I enjoy reading good entries but I like my perogative to close the window on an entry I don't like and forget about it. I know its your job but I've noticed a lot of people give negative feedback about changes subeditors have made...

  | | The procedure is, we just sub-edit pages and return them recommended for rejection or acceptance (or as a "maybe"). Sometimes the in-house editors don't agree and decisions (either way) get reversed. Sometimes the in-house eds decide to re-edit it if we didn't do a good enough job. Sometimes they jiggle around with the order in which articles are created so that they can release a controlled number each day, rather than a big burst followed by days of inactivity. Sometimes the system breaks down and articles get "lost" - we'd best keep an eye out that hasn't happened this time.
Unfortunately, we subs don't get any feedback as to which of the above have occurred (something I've moaned about for ages), so I'm afraid I can't tell you. If you want clarification, you could try asking Anna at http://www.h2g2.com/U25

  | | Whatever happens, they often seem to dissapear from your pages for no apparent reason, then to reappear saying you wrote them about four hours ago, or something, then go again...
...I sometimes manage to completely forget about entries only to get an email about them and then its like... what?? Oh... I'd forgotten about that one...
