I hardly know where to begin. It is starting to look like my best friend in high school (ages 13/14-17/18) was killed in Hurricane Katrina. She was a grade school art school teacher. Her fiance had died suddenly of a brain aneurism in March of 2004 3 months prior to their wedding fay (they had lived together 10 years and were deeply in love...) I am so afraid that she "snapped" and decided to "join" him.) No word for a week...

My duhsident bush has been so insensitive. The latest I heard was that 100 firemen went as volunteers and were flown to Flroida because the paperwork was more important.

More important than people? Thank their homes? Than the dead? Than the split up mothers and children (and fathers)?

What insanity is this?

I have never been so ashamed to be an american. I now believe that fundamentalist xtians are the genuine terrorists on the planet.

I wantg bush impeached. NOW.

I am disgusted by the 'actions' of this administration. I am becoming ashamed of my 'new' country......I did not look to find such glaring errors of judgement, indifference, and plain, outright, corruption in such measure.erm

My heart goes out to all who have been affected......and especially you, dear lady.

My sincerest condolensces, Arietty.
People are now starting to wake up and see what I've been talking about for years. This country is the most pathetic piece of Vogon s**t I have ever seen in my life. It is run by a majority of sexist, racist, greedy, lying, white Christian males who only wish to benefit themselves.
I'll rant later at the Guild. But.....ooooooo! <turns mechanical fist to "%#^@$!&#!!!">

Thank you to the heights of my aspirations and to the depths of my heart for caring, my dear ones.

My friend, Pat, has been found! She made it to Baton Rouge with all her dogs and chicken. In an apartment! (Flat)

Now it appears that Hurricane Rita is going to hit New Orleans AGAIN! And that the levees broke because of the seams in between the panels gave way - they were defective.

Meanwhile in Galveston, Texas, people are dying on the roads because they are jammed in blocked highways. One bus full of old people blew up because one person's oxygen tank went amiss and the entire bus blew up and all 24 died.

Our country is a rolling disaster.

Correction: Galveston/Houston is the epicenter. A lot of that coast is very low lying. weather.com has some helpful perspectives.
