Perhaps a lot of it being their upbringing. I was raised Catholic, and though I rather renounced a lot of that, 'marriage' seemed the right thing to do. It clearly broadcast to our family and friends our commitment to each other. And we are now in the planning process of celebrating our 25th anniversay with a small number of friends and family, including a renewal of vows. As I say, it's a personal choice and thing to do.
