  | | Currently 6c with an expected high of 11c today, winds are northerly between 6 to 12. Pressure is set around 1014mb, rising to 1017mb by end of day. Sun rise for you early birds is 04.39 and sets at 21.31.
We have quite a large low pressure system to the west, over the Atlantic which is pumping warmish air up to the southern most parts of the UK and a low positioned over northern Europe which is feeding cold air across most of the UK.
This is set to stay until midweek when hopefully a small ridge of high pressure should build briefly over the UK to pep up the temperature and give us some more sunshine, fingers crossed

  | | I was enjoying an this dinner time and on reading the last post, I responded with a post to show my annoyance at the current performance of our weather presenters. Unfortanely my battery died on my mobile phone and the post was, as I found out later on, never sent.
It was steered at my ever increasing annoyance of how the weather is reported.
The post would have mentioned that some time ago , I posted that the weather in the UK was set to be very wet and be below average temperature wise. It also would have mentioned the absence of the accuracy of the reporting of the weather. They have at their disposal data far beyond my means, yet for some reason they fail to continue to give a full account as to why the weather is ,as it is. Peoples lives are being very mush effected and they have no chance to respond as a consequence of the information they are currently given Prior to making this post ,I watched the weather and believe me not but the reporter of our most well known national broadcasting channel, actually mentioned the jetstream as a reason for the current bad weather. Did he give a qualification , NO. There is good reason for the weather patterns around the world but for reasons best known to those that report it, they do anything but give good account for its causation. In the UK, weather presenters on a certian well known channel , were told to tell Joe public about the weather in a up beat manner and not to continually focus on the negative effect it was likely to cause. Its time that they grew balls and stopped being so politically motivated, as mentioned, its us folk that suffer for their incompetency.

Happy First Day of Summer, Northern Hemisphere.
We've got a minor monsoon visiting here. Perpetual rain guaranteed for the next 48 hours, as a tropical wave is gathering rotation and heading for Texas. This will be a "romantic" weather event, as in I don't have to leave the house for the next two days, and there's little threat of flooding or tree damage due to winds uprooting any waterlogged big ones. I've long since laid in plenty of food/water/beer/liquor/one dollar bills/other in anticipation of the season.
It's not bad when the storm starts here. It's bad when the storm gathers below Cuba, lays in wait for four or five days, then squeezes past Cozumel and taunts us as it turns into a Category Four hurricane. But not this one. This one is romantic. It's also 70 degrees, which means all the jalousie windows are open and I'm enjoying no need for air conditioning.
