I've always thought that words that ended with "-ub" were quite amusing. Scrub, tub, cub, chub...there's something about that ending combo that just makes me laugh. Gnu, however, is truly laugh out loud funny.

Other words that make me smile:
giddy
boob (as in he's a big fat boob)
pip
fib, fibber
scrofulous (although I probably spelled it wrong)
scurious
blip
papal
hegemony
modernity (if you pronounce it correctly)
petunia
peccary (a species of nocturnal pig)
