First of all, let me extend Seasons Greetings! holly xmastree holly

Andrea Ortiz, I'm assuming? How've you been? Which of course raises another question, am I duly bound by my 'ACE-hood' to as they say give you the whole schpiel? Which I imagine someone already gave you...roughly a year ago...hmm? Well, I don't suppose it would hurt, would it Andrea?

Anyway, being new you can visit the 'Welcome page' @ A53146 , or the 'I am new, what do I do now?'page@ A868098 , & of course theres the dontpanictour . You know, of course about the wide range of smileys & being able to refer back to the list by typing smileys into the search window. You can also access them@ A155909 .

You can also look at 'spicing up your page'@ A690518 , or the 'picture gallery'@ A692741 , as well as the 'GuideML clinic' ( A187229 ). I would imagine you were aware of thepost h2g2's newspaper which comes out every Thursday. And of course the various clubs & societies, which you'll find divided into categories & listed@ A660340 .

A couple of my esteemed ACE colleagues have compiled comprehensive lists of links designed to help new researchers. Shea's List is@ A534953 while Feisor's List of Links is@ A719840 . I would imagine that between the 2, most aspects of hootoo are covered, or at least touched on. But should you have any questions, there's askh2g2 . In any case, it's good to be the one to welcome you back Andrea, I'll mention to abbi that you're back & I hope to see you around, contributing to conversations before too long. Bye for now *waves*

Well...I never really left...just didn't find as much interesting and my work schedule made it look like 2 or 3 days passed between each posting.

My old ID just died...couldn't get back in no matter what did..so just decided to use this one.

I am fond of blue butterflies and I have gotten into some new conversations along with the new identity. Beginnings are good. Definitely expect to see me posting more.

smiley
thank you for the re-welcome!!!

Yes Andrea/bluestbutterfly (I like the choice of nickname, btw!), Jazz musicalnote & choc are still prominent interests, in fact am munching a bit of choc as I type just now. And actually have just put a Jazziz magazine sampler CD into the computers disc drive. True, beginnings are a good thing & every-so-often new ones are essential to one's creativity & well being...just glad that you are back, hopefully you'll find some recent developments (& don't feel you need to explain any abscences, I'm sure you're quie busy at times!)

I can understand your being scared about the prospect of eye-surgery Andrea, but I've had similar surgery & that was some time ago...surgical techniques can only have improved considerably since then. hug Try not to worry about it, ok.

Well....I am scared cause my metabolism/blood is very messed up do to a thyroid problem and I have had a lot of very strange reactions to any hospitalish sort of thing. I am just worried that I might actually slip away some day when I don't respond to a medicine or over respond to it (or when I lose blood or change body temperature).

Last eye surgery...They had a very hard time putting me to sleep. I was given medicine and my mother just found out that I was finally given anasthesia...when I told her why I was scared to have a surgery now. Apparently it is not normal to have anasthesia for the type of surgery I had, I just could not be put to sleep. Then when I was being wheeled out of surgery...I woke up. These are the kind of things that worry me. I really do wish though that I had the courage to just go in and have it done...I would if I would really believe that it is risk-free.

And it did help to re-ace me....I actually learned how to do Guide ML something that I was intimidated by the first time around.

When you ace people....let them know that Guide ML is easier then it looks (if they have ever done any HTML it is really easy).

erm So you do have reason to worry...I'd be quite scared too, I suppose.Well, if you do decide Andrea, just know there's someone (here)pulling for you & willing to say a few extra prayers or whatever.

And, thanks for letting me know you've gotten (I was going to say 'mastered'?) GuideML...I will mention that its easier than it appears at first glance. In fact I may give it an actual try myself - I tend to be too easily intimidated, especially in "grey areas"...computers being quite likely the greyest!

I am doing really good...about ready to go on a short vacation but I will be online part of Tuesday and Thursday...so probably won't notice that I am gone that much.

Going to a art exhibit.

You really should try Guide ML..it is really just copy and paste...if you can do that then you can do Guide ML.

smiley

When I got my computer, I got a free year of AOL & a friend I made in CA, had "talked me through it" once (copy & paste), I tried it by myself sometime later, but I must've been missing something...it just wasn't going right. I suppose I will have to "get back on the horse", so to speak, eventually *sigh*. winkeye
