Perhaps it's really a cry for help. After all it takes a certain level of madness to wake up that early and DJ - I know I've done it for student radio (and done morning shows laugh ). Perhaps they want someone to realize that they need treatment or to be putdown like a dog.

speaking for myself of course as a former dj, i did it to, in a sense, justify to myself why in the world i would be doing it. also hinting at your madness also gives a little breathing room to say certain things, that way people wont have to think, "is he mad?." because i will have told them already.
