  | | I feel more and more detached from h2g2. Maybe it's because there are so many things going on in my family right now, or maybe I've been here for too long; I don't know.
Whatever the reason, there's hardly anything drawing me here. Take the may challenge for 'Create'. A87756475
That looks like a pretty exclusive one to me, but then it's because I don't have any interesting/exciting/extraordinary hobbies. I like reading, cycling, and sometimes writing. There are lots of guide entries about each of those hobbies in the guide already (and anyway, I haven't written for the edited guide for years).
Now, I find it absolutely legitimate to try to get people to write for the guide, but that's not for me.
So if you don't see me around, it's nothing to do with you. It's just me.

  | | Sorry, I just switched accounts to help preparing the next .
I have yet to try more than the one cycling route I made last year (on the traces of the Celt), Mr603.
I briefly wondered whether I should write about it, but then my Post article A87706533 was read by exactly two people: Dmitri and Elektra, so I didn't bother writing yet another one.
Z, this wasn't meant as a criticism of your choice. It's great that you took Create on.
I guess I'm currently in a bit of a 'I can't be bothered' mood because an article I meant to write for was deemed 'too dangerous' (i.e. they feared some German company might sue them, although I had links to the respective proofs - even to BBC websites).

  | | Same here Then again, I seem to be less and less active in anything*
I've read your dangerous article too I should have done it earlier, but it got lost in my 'read it later' list (morality: never miss an opportunity to plug in your work!)
* yes, yes, I promise, I'll do a blog post really soon. This time truly for real, I swear

  | | I found myself less active for a while at a couple of different times. I really don't like to write, so I'm not motivated to contribute to the Guide, and so many people use the conversation threads as a platform to facilitate their own petty squabbles rather than engage in any actual discussion, so I had been rather quiet for a while.
And it certainly makes sense that h2g2 would take a back seat to your family, especially during times when family requires all of the energy you can muster.
Since taking on volunteer roles I've felt like I should try to participate more. Sometimes I don't have enough free time to even read threads, though, not to mention participate in something.
On the other hand, I have been following Create because I like some of the ideas and what to see what other folks do with them. And sooner or later something will grab me and I'll manage to get in on it.
I wish I could have the chance to read your article.
Anyway, if I see less of you here I will make an effort to see more of you elsewhere.

  | | If you know where my blog is you can read it there. It's just a few things that made the news here recently (and which made a change from news about our politicians wanting to boycott the in the Ukraine because of Mrs Timoschenko, and the elections in France - we don't get to hear anything else here).
I'm sure there'll be other Create challenges which inspire me.

  | | . So do I, and for you too, as yours has been very up and down.
It is annoying how life does that, and virtual and , appreciated as they are, don't quite make up for the real thing.
But hopefully my black <puppy> and is now well and truly behind me and and <Biggrin> only stretches before me.
And, more importantly, for you.
You know where I am, 24/7.
Always here for friends, irrespective of what's happening to me. I'm an expert at comparentalising.
