1) Take a mug and boil the kettle

2) Lay your hands on some raspberries. Frozen will do but fresh are better. Take a generous handful (defrost if neccessary)and crush in the bottom of the mug to make a rough puree.

3) Add a really good glug of framboise or vodka depending on your taste and a teaspoon of honey.

4) Add hot water to taste and drink.

Another cold relief is hot elderberry juice:

1. Collect ripe, dark elderberries (you should have done this in summer, before getting a cold).
2. Prepare elderberry juice, e.g. by hot pressing out the juice and filtering through a cloth. Preserve the juice e.g. by heat sterilization.
3. When having caught a cold, bring the juice to near-boiling temperature, add a tablespoon of honey to dulcify the juice and drink as hot as possible.
4. It will raise your body temperature quickly to strenghten your defence against microbes.
