A good way I've found of saving money is to get one of those jug filters for water. The filtered water tastes much better than either tap water or bottled water, and it saves you having to buy bottles of water for exercising etc, as you can just refill an old one.

Because the taste is improved, I even drink water instead of soft drinks now, which also saves money.

I am sure you must be joking, Frawli.
Neither filtered water nor bottled water tastes any different from ordinary tap water, and there is no proof that either is any better for you.

213079 -- Where do you live? Of course bottled water tastes different from tap, unless the source is your own water supply. It's the mineral mix, man! Now whether it's better quality or not, there you have me. Personally, I don't mind the taste of our city water, but I've been places where the sulfur and iron content were so high that it was unbearable. I know about those little filter inserts -- they are pretty cool, and a good alternative to buying new bottles. More often than not, though, I just refill from the tap anyhow.

Bottled water is a rip-off, it's just water for crying out loud!
I didn't believe in the whole filtering thing, until I moved into my uni accommodation, obv it depends on whether the water in your area is drinkable or not.
If you need it, of course it's cheaper than buying bottled, but you have to keep replacing the filters, and if your tap water tastes okay then doing anything to it is just a watse of time and money.
