From ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggety beasties
And things that go bump in the night
Good Lord, deliver us! - A Cornish Prayer Throughout history people have claimed to have seen strange beings and creatures of every description. Whilst few of us may believe in the existence of fairies and trolls, some of the myths may be true. Many people do believe that they have a guardian angel looking out for them in times of danger. Vampires may exist and it's quite possible that Yetis do lurk in remote mountain ranges. Do any of these really exist1? And if not, where did all the elaborate stories originate? Here are a few mythical creatures to start you off: - Mermaids
- Dragons
- Wraiths
- Guardian Angels
- Werewolves
- The Yeti
- Zombies
- Unicorns
- Vampires
- The Salamander2
- The Kelpie
- The Beast of Bodmin Moor
- The Loch Ness Monster
- Bigfoot
Can you think of any more? 1 Before you say no, check this link, apparently scientists say that the Yeti does exist! 2 A small dragon or lizard that resists fire and could even extinguish flames.
