I had never heard of the green guerillas. What a wonderful idea.
Here in Frankfurt, people have been known to become godfather/mother of trees and planted patches (mainly of trees, though) in times of drought, because the municipal council can't take care of them all.
I guess I'm lucky, because Frankfurt has lots of green, so maybe that's why I never heard about the scheme?

This was the first time I had heard of Guerrilla Gardeners. It's an absolutely wonderful thing to do, though. I had an uncle in Detroit who bought the vacant lot next to his home and maintained it for decades as a garden. I have had neighbors here in Boston who have gardened in vacant spots nearby. People who have the time and the inclination often do wonderful things.
I've only just retired, and my first project was to plant flowers around the borders of my house. Maybe I can branch out out next Spring.
