Gemma finally changes her introduction....

Wow, that took a while. I finally picked a nickname...and it's not even that interesting! It's officially Jan 3 / 2000 here in Toronto, it being 12:12 am. I had fun on New Year's Day, just writing 1/1/00 over and over again. It seems so strange to be living in a new decade, new century, new millenium (okay, purists, pipe down)! I was wondering if anyone wanted to share their wild NYE story with me (and the rest of us here at H2G2 of course...). Where was the best place to be? Any contenders?

Ok, basic info about me....my real name is Laura; Gemma is was one of the names my parents were considering way back in 1976 when I was born (in London, England), after Gemma Jones. I'm actually pretty glad I ended up with Laura, all things considered. I've just finished a degree in English and History; my passion is Victorian history. I really want to go to art college next, I think, to start a career in design and illustration. Probably here in Toronto, but ideally back in England. Sigh. Financial woes stand in my way. So that is a brief introduction to me -- but I'll be glad to give out further info upon vigorous demand (and for a minimal fee, of course!) Hi Beeblefish!
