I've been instructed to be a bit more imaginative with my original intoduction 2 days ago so here goes.

Hi anyone and everyone. My name is John. I am British and was born in Sheffield. I went to Netheredge and Abbeydale Grammar Schools and then Manchester University to study Engineering and Management Sciences before joining Ford Motor Company, initially as a vehicle design engineer based in Essex and Koln Germany, then as a Product Planner. I left Ford to join the then British Leyland working in various Planning capacities, including The Group Executive for Business Strategy. In the mid 80's I was seconded to Brussels to run an outfit representing the EU Motor Industry to the Commission and UN. I then spent some time in China forging links beween BL and China.

Meanwhile I also got married, settled down near Leamington Spa and contributed to producing 5 children in 3 years (2 sets of twins). I left the then Rover Group in 1989 and set up my own consultancy. In 1994 I was divorced and went into hibernation for a couple of years. In 1997 a friend invited me to dinner in Belgium and I have been her on and off since.

Last year I changed my 386 Computer running on MS DOS 5.1 for this thing I'm using to talk with you. meanwhile I more or less wound down the business, restored an old cottage with a barn in the garden near Brussels and started wondering what the hell to do with my life!! I'm still wondering but one or two ideas are emerging which I hope we can share next time.
