Introducing Myself

I'm a war baby from the U.S., which means I was born around the end of World War II, the last -- despite George Bush's allegations -- good war.

Most war babies are about a year younger than I, since they were born nine months after Daddy came home from the war. My Daddy didn't go to the war and I was born just before the big one was dropped on Japan. It turns out that this is purely coincidental.

So far my greatest contribution to Then Universe is probably only an indirect contribution, being my Granddaughter. The Universe is certainly a better place -- and a more beautiful place -- with her in it.

Whether I will be able to contribute anything here is unimportant. I have come for entertainment and enlightenment, two commodities that I am unlikely to myself provide. If I were clever enough to be entertaining or enlightening I would peddle these wares elsewhere. Perhaps, if conditions are just right, I might be able to exchange an idea or two with another soul here. Here's hoping she's 18, blonde, and cheerful.
