At the side of a canal

I am Gary, I find peace at the side of canals. OK, there's often a disproportionate stink coming from the frothy waters peppered with squashed joke cans, but there are also horses partial to apples, anglers taking classes on patience, and a sense of reassurance that nothing, including the water, is going anywhere.

I live in Nottingham, England, near to Grantham Canal.
