The Grin

Salutations!

Hmm. Introductions are important things, I'm told. First impressions and all that. With that in mind, maybe starting with a poncy word isn't such a good idea. Oh well.

Anyway, I'm Chris, known occasionally as "The Grin" due to the fact that I allegedly spend a significant proportion of the time with an inane smile plastered on my face. This is especially true in photos, which, as we all know, always show people in the worst possible light...

Of course, the fact that I always look happy (or psychopathic, depending upon your viewpoint) doesn't mean that I'm one of these annoying bouncy optimists; my outlook on life tends towards moderately extreme cynicism about most things. Is this a bad thing? My philosophy is that while it's fine to hope for the best, actually expecting it is just asking for trouble. And besides, I always try to avoid that other terminal error of life - taking it too seriously - which I think keeps me just about on the acceptable side of misanthropism...

So, aside from my overuse of semi-colons and ellipsises, what else do you need to know about me?
