I don't bite - honest!

I suffer with Coronary Heart Disease and Angina which in my case, is non-operable by conventional by-pass surgery. The condition is being kept under control by large doses of medication, Beta-Blockers, Calcium Nitrates, Ace Inhibitors and Aspirin among others. I'm in the classic 'catch 22' situation which is, although the meds do control the overall condition I do have problems with the side affects after being on such high doses for so long. Other medical issues complicate things somewhat as well. .

Sadly I have had and still have, more than my fair share of these dark times.

Here's a useful link for those who suffer depression. Hopefully this will help kill off the stigma attached to having depression. Clinical Depression is a serious condition, it's not the same as stress or just 'having a bad day' or a bad week even. It can be life and soul destroying if not treated.BBC Health - Depression

Walking in the countryside, climbing and hiking were serious hobbies untill the old ticker decided to play up. Now it's much more sedate stuff like the PC, Reading, more gentle walks and such like.

I have 2 cats, Loopy Lou, a very large black tomcat, now 17 years old and a little female tortoishell called Kitty. Sadly on Mon.30/03/09 Kitty lost her battle with cancer. She was 21yrs and 7mths old which is a good age for a moggie, she'll be missed.

True friends you can count on 2 hands, aquaintences you have plenty of. Therein lies the difference.
